The first time I dated was back in high school. It didn't last very long since I was still living at an orphanage at the time and the nuns there weren't that keen on allowing us to bring dates back home with us. It actually might have been for the best that it didn't get very serious. She wouldn't stop making a big deal out of the blindness. It was awkward. But I definitely learned from the experience.

It's not to late for you to go back to school if you really want to. Other adults do it all time. You can ask your secretary to look into how to earn your GED.
Yes, she's an old family friend. My father and she had a story. [It takes Danny a second to realize how that might have sounded.] Not like they did anything together! I mean...My dad gave Jeri her first job and I knew her when I was little. I was lucky to find her when I came back, for the last 15 years she took care of my family's estate and their graves. It's really weird to see your own tombstone, let me tell you.

It sounds like she really cares about you and your family. Your father must have had good instincts, giving her a chance to start out at your company. [ He wonders how much of this story Jessica knows what with all her grumbles when Hogarth came up in conversation. Then again, it was Jessica speaking and she could admire and begrudge the same person easily. ]
That's right. Passing the GED exam earns you the equivalent of a high diploma. Then if you want to continue your education you can look into colleges.
